Regular season games will start at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the 16-week season, with four distinct matchups each night. Each team will play 14 regular season games that will count toward its regular-season record. Each matchup consists of two games played back-to-back with alternating hosts, allowing the NBA 2K League broadcast to switch between games in real time and give fans more opportunities to experience the league’s most exciting moments. Each game from a two-game matchup will count as one win or loss instead of the previous “best-of-three” series counting as one regular season win.

The 2021 season will once again include three in-season tournaments: THE TIPOFF, THE TURN and THE TICKET. All 23 teams will compete in THE TIPOFF and THE TURN. The 14 teams that are not one of the top nine playoff seeds will compete in THE TICKET, with the winning team earning the 10th and final spot in the 2021 NBA 2K League Playoffs.
