Blazer5 Gaming announces Mikias Yohannes as General Manager along with three new players from the 2022 NBA 2K League Draft

Blazer5 Gaming has named Mikias Yohannes as the team’s general manager. Yohannes brings extensive gaming experience and an eye for talent to the role as he recently led Blazer5 Gaming through the 2022 NBA 2K League draft, selecting three new players for this season’s roster.

 

Yohannes joins the organization after a successful career competing in the Overwatch League. Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, he emigrated to Dallas, Texas with his family at a young age. He began playing Overwatch upon its release in 2016 and achieved a Top-200 finish among North American players that summer. After playing for a semi-pro team in Toronto throughout 2017, Yohannes played flex support for Boston Uprising during the inaugural Overwatch League season in 2018. Recently, Yohannes has kept active in the esports world streaming and competing, while also pursuing nursing school.

His background will allow for easy collaboration with players and coach Maxie while helping Blazer5 Gaming grow.”

The 2022 NBA2K League draft was held virtually on Saturday, February 26. Blazer5 Gaming welcomed three new members to the team. In the first round, Blazer5 selected Joshua “unguardable” Hunter with the fifth overall pick and Dorian Earl “Bucket” Miller with the 13th overall pick. Robert “CantGuardRob” Nastasi rounds out the roster and was selected with the 27th overall pick, fifth in the second round.
