Blazer5 Gaming Previews 2021 NBA 2K League Season With Three For All Showdown

PORTLAND, Ore. (April 5, 2021) – Blazer5 Gaming’s new team will play in the second annual Three for All Showdown on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10, a 3-on-3 tournament featuring NBA 2K League players, fans and social media influencers. The tournament begins at 5:00 p.m., with games airing on the NBA 2K League Twitch and YouTube channels.
Due to three successful trades at the end of last season with Nets GC, Grizz Gaming, 76ers GC and Kings Guard Gaming, Portland welcomes six new faces to the Rose Quarter campus. All veterans in the league, Blazer5’s new roster includes Dayvon “G O O F Y 7 5 7” Curry, Christopher “BreadwinnerLA” Lafanette, Matthew “Bash” Robles, Rashan “Scretty” Petty, Marquis “Randomz” Gill and Joel “Lav” Lazu.

A former NBA 2K League Champion with Knicks Gaming in the inaugural 2K League season, Curry averaged 11.7 points, 12.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists during 2020. Curry was originally drafted in 2018 as the ninth overall pick in the first round of the NBA 2K League Draft by Knicks Gaming. He was retained by Knicks Gaming in the 2019 season, where he led the league in rebounds, before being traded to Grizz Gaming for the 2020 season. Curry will be the starting Center with Blazer5 for 2021.
A member of the 2019 NBA 2K League All-Defensive Team and All-Rookie Team, Lafanette averaged 8.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks during the 2020 season. He was selected as the 19th overall pick in the First Round by 76ers GC in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft and was retained by 76ers GC in 2020. Lafanette will be the starting Power Forward this season.
Robles averaged 26.2 points, 7.0 assists and 2.0 steals during the 2020 season with Kings Guard Gaming, of which he was selected 17th in the first round of the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft. Robles led Kings Guard into the 2020 NBA 2K League Playoff Tournament as the fifth seed before falling to league champions Wizards District Gaming in the quarterfinals. He will play as the starting Point Guard for Blazer5.
Petty, alongside former and current teammate Lafanette, led 76ers GC throughout the 2020 season, helping them become the first team in NBA 2K League history to record 50 all-time victories. He averaged 12.6 points, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals during 2020 and was selected 89th overall in the sixth round by 76ers GC in the 2018 NBA 2K League Draft. He was retained for the 2019 and 2020 seasons by 76ers GC. Petty will be the starting Shooting Guard with Blazer5 for 2021.
Gill averaged 11.3 points, 1.1 assists and 2.3 steals during 2020. He was selected 29th overall in the second round of the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft by Nets GC where he helped the team throughout the 2020 season land the ninth seed in the 2020 Playoffs before falling to Hornets Venom in the first round. In his rookie season, he finished in the top 15 in FG% in the league. Gill will play the starting Small Forward position this season.
An exceptionally versatile player, Lazu averaged 15.8 points, 4.2 assists and 1.0 steals during the 2019 season. He was selected 46th overall in the third round of the 2018 NBA 2K League Draft by Nets GC, then went un-retained before being picked up in the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft by Grizz Gaming with the 45th overall pick. Lazu was traded back to Nets GC after the 2020 season. He will be the alternate player for this season with Blazer5.
