BLAZER 5 GAMING ACQUIRES DRAFT ASSETS IN TRADE WITH PISTONS GT

PORTLAND, Ore. (Oct 3, 2023) – Blazer5 Gaming acquired the 2024 eighth overall pick and a 2025 DET first-round pick from Pistons GT in exchange for Jomar “Jomar” Varela-Escapa and a 2025 POR second-round pick, it was announced by Blazer5 Gaming and the NBA 2K League today.
Jomar is a six-year NBA 2K veteran, having played for Blazer5 for two of his six seasons. He was initially drafted to Blazer5 in 2017, before returning to the team via trade with Pacers Gaming prior to the start of the 2023 season. In the 2023 season, Jomar scored 10.8 points each game and averaged a 70.2% FG in the 5v5 tournament and 72.6% FG overall. He was named 2023 MVP in THE SLAM Tournament with 19 points, 83% FG and 100% 3P in the final game against Utah Jazz Gaming.
With these new draft assets, in 2024 Blazer5 will now have the eighth, 30th and 34th overall picks, while in 2025, Blazer5 will have the POR first round, DET first round and POR third round picks.
